The University of Huddersfield are pleased to announced that their highly sought-after Santander Funded Internship Scheme is back for 2019 and they are now taking expressions of interest.
Santander fund half of the internship, making the total cost to the business just £1575 for 10 weeks work. This year they are also able to fund longer internships but these are limited so if you need the intern to work longer than 10 weeks, please get in touch so they can discuss the options.
If the internship goes well, the intern will be available to recruit into a permanent position as they will have finished their University course. Most businesses use the scheme as a ‘trial period’ and offer a permanent position at the end of the internship. It’s a fantastic way of spotting new talent at a low cost and allows SMEs to access the graduate talent pool with the support of the University.
The scheme has been a huge
success with local SMEs so far and is particularly useful if you need some
extra support with a project that your staff may not have time to do, or if you
are having a busy period and need extra help. Many businesses recruit the
interns to address a skills shortage within the business as the graduate talent
come from a range of 400 courses – the University are sure they have someone to
suit your business needs.
If you would like to hear a first-hand account from businesses who have taken
part in the scheme, have a look at our testimonials here:
The scheme is extremely popular with SMEs and spaces fill up quickly, so please express your interest as soon as possible by emailing University of Huddersfield Business Partnership Coordinator, Cerys Jones at:
Spaces are filled on a first come first served basis but if you have any questions or would like to discuss any of the above further – over the phone or in a meeting – please contact Cerys who is happy to help.
