The 18 teams taking part in this year’s Tranzfuser, based in Local Hubs across the UK, have been announced.

Tranzfuser is a games development programme, set up by UK Games Talent, with the aim to find new talent and the creative team leaders of the future. It looks to supply a pipeline to enterprise and/or employment for new UK games graduates, taking teams from concept and prototyping through to publishing.

The Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Centre (DOYYEC), based within the 3M BIC, is home to the University of Huddersfield’s Tranzfuser Hub, with hands-on support coordinated and delivered by the University’s Enterprise Team.

Gentlemen Worldwide are this years’ entry from the University of Huddersfield led by DOYYEC tenant Peter Waugh. The multidisciplinary team of four are impassioned games graduates from the University with years of experience working together, perfectly placed to infuse unique and challenging experiences into their games.

The project that the team will be working on is called Doombuggies, a multiplayer arena-based vehicle shooter, taking inspiration from old and new titles such as Twisted Metal and Rocket League. The player controls a buggy with interchangeable weapons and must use their skills to beat other players in an all-out buggy brawl!

Gentlemen Worldwide will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and industry standard software provided by the University of Huddersfield’s School of Computing and Engineering.

Good luck to the team!
