NPL and the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre held a hugely successful event to share ideas and best practice to maximise productivity in manufacturing businesses.
Speakers included John Brownell – Global Chief of Manufacturing Measurement at Rolls-Royce talking on the subject of “Supply chain product verification expectations: capability, cost & data”, Phil Cooper (NPL) talking about “Increasing productivity through product verification” (“End-to-end improvement in measurement”), Tim Capewell (Production Director for ‘KOSO Kent Introl’) gave a local manufacturers first-hand view of productivity improvement and Iain Reed from the University of Huddersfield rounded off the presentations by delivering a case study on maximising productivity in the region.
The event included the opportunity to network with speakers and other attendees and to visit an exhibition area where test equipment manufacturers showcased equipment.
The event was attended by almost 60 delegates, a number of which were new to NPL and had not visited the 3M BIC previously and who took the opportunity for a laboratory tour before the main event.
This was part of a series of NPL Manufacturer Measurement Network events which are being held on a quarterly basis.
