3M BIC tenants Innovate Orthopaedics hosted a successful inaugural surgeon education event on 14 and 15 June in Manchester attended by 26 of the UK’s top knee surgeons.
The Knee Discussion Club, in collaboration with Joint Operations, was chaired by leading orthopaedic surgeons, Jonathon Lavelle and Sanjay Anand, and took place over 24 hours. Focusing more on best practice than product-based discussion, the event was split into five sections and was designed for delegates to share ideas and experiences, such as operations, rehabilitation, prehabilitation and the instruments they use.
A more relaxed evening event enabled delegates to share and discuss ‘case confessionals’ and benefit from the opinions and recommendations of the other 25 delegates.
Alex from Innovate said, “The event was fantastic and the feedback we received after was phenomenal. The delegates thanked us for delivering a refreshing, informative and enjoyable event, as well as giving them the opportunity to discuss things with other peers they wouldn’t usually talk about.”
One delegate said: “The attention to detail was amazing and the standard of the meeting was the best I have attended across the UK, USA and Australia.”
Following the positive feedback from delegates, Innovate is already in the throes of planning next year’s event with the plan to host similar events annually.
