NPL MMN Event – The Joy of Engineering

November 13, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

**Join us at the NPL MMN Event – The Joy of Engineering**
For the first time ever we’re pleased to announce that the MMN Event – The Joy of Engineering will be held in cooperation with Associated Utility Supplies (AUS)! We’d like to thank them for their kind support
Andrew Hewitt talking about ‘Smart Textiles’ otherwise known as ‘Sensors in Textiles’, and the innovation that this can bring to a historic West Yorkshire industry. Don’t think itchy, scratchy wool that granny used to knit – think composites, novel fibres, diverse applications and sensors.
Have you ever wondered about how to get new creative and innovative thoughts and ideas into your business? Has the thought of hiring a graduate ever crossed your mind? Have you ever heard a graduate talk about their first job as a professional engineer? Listen to the first hand experience of a young engineer.
The thought of employing a postgraduate in your business may seem far fetched and unaffordable; listen to the experts talk about the benefits that postgraduates can bring and the funding options to make this more affordable.
NPL are looking to launch a cohort of Apprentices in Huddersfield in early 2019; this is your opportunity to listen to the plan and give your opinions.
Speakers at the event include:

18:05 Engineering Medical Textiles: New Materials and Applications Andrew Hewitt (University of Huddersfield)
