We have recently appointed an industrial designer who will be based at the 3MBIC. Paul Tallon will work alongside technology director, Dr Michael Wilson, to provide skills in design and product development using the 3D equipment on Innovation Avenue.
Tenants and Network Members will have access to Paul’s expertise if they require design input for their business.
Paul said: “I offer a wide range of skills, whether it’s to develop an idea from the ground up, tweak an existing idea to make it printable, or simply just to operate the printer for CAD files for clients who are already proficient in producing 3D models. I can also animate and render, as well as offer technical advice on a customer’s project.”
He has experience in the following programmes;
- Solidworks
- Maya
- 3DS Max
- Zbrush
- Photoshop
Paul graduated with a BSc Hons in Industrial Design from the University of Huddersfield. He recently worked for an agency in Leeds where he was the lead visualizer and undertook projects for clients covering a wide range of disciplines, from architecture to packaging and industrial design, as well as product ‘walk-throughs’ and other renders.
He also worked for an animation studio in Manchester that primarily focused on the entertainment industry, where he was lead modeller on a project called ‘Gabby and Gator’, which was successfully pitched to Disney.
