The 3M BIC hosted the Venturefest Huddersfield Roadshow on 9 August. With talks, workshops and an exhibition, it was designed to give businesses a taster, and inspire and encourage them to take part in the one-day Venturefest festival, which will take place at York Racecourse on 16 November.

It also helped launch two competitions, Pitchfest and Innovation Showcase, to support businesses looking to develop innovative ideas or encourage investment.

The winners of Pitchfest, an investment pitching competition, will receive a £5,000 cash prize and 12 months of support to help get business plans off the ground – ideal for entrepreneurs who are ready for investment. The deadline for applications is 16 September, and the live finals will take place on 16 November.

Innovation Showcase is perfect for start-ups to showcase their innovative business idea. Winners will be featured at Venturefest in November, as well as connected with potential investors.
